River's Recruit by Charlotte Abel
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Charlotte Abel has an easy writing style that sucks you into the story. I have read both Enchantment and Taken in the Channie Series and loved them both. River's Recruit is much different in storyline to the Channie Series, but it has the same laid back feel.
I enjoyed getting to know Jonathan and River, although the society River is involved in is pretty messed up. The first part of the book was mainly set up but kept me interested throughout. The cliffhanger ending left me wanting more! Now, lol.
The characters are well developed. River, especially, was an enjoyable character to get to know. I loved Jonathan and his struggles. He was a great hero, and I loved that he had a great attitude about the problems he'd faced in life.
The series has the potential to be both heartwarming and amazing, and I can't wait for the next book!

I'd like to welcome Noree Cosper today. I'm helping Noree celebrate the release of her novel A Prescription for Delirium. Thanks for stopping by today, Noree!
In “A Prescription for Delirium” Gabby and the Van Helsings deal with a hellhound. Here is more about the origins of werewolves and Hellhounds in Gabby’s own words.
I have found the name of the demon I faced in Yorkshire years ago. It is known as a hellhound. The Thrones of Hell use them as guardians and sometimes retrievers of souls. From what I understand, some werewolves do become corrupted. This is not surprise considering I haven’t heard of anything in this world that is incorruptible. The werewolves willing allow themselves to become possessed by a hellhound. They are harder to kill because of a werewolf’s extraordinary ability to heal, but I heard alchemical silver is good to fight them. However, I have no weapon to fight a demon with, much less a possessed werewolf.
A Prescription for Delirium
Ninety years ago, Gabriella di Luca promised to protect the family of her dying lover. She failed to keep that promise. She was too far away to stop the devil that murdered the eldest Van Helsing son. Years later, Gabby learns the devil has resurfaced. She arrives in Hampton, TX, determined to stop the devil before it can lay a bloody hand on the remaining three brothers.
However, madness is spreading through Hampton. She suspects the devil is using this madness to test a drug which has a side effect of demonic possession. Gabby rushes to end the source of the madness only to fall victim to it. For a woman cursed with eternal life, dying is no threat. However, Gabby must stop the devil's plot or risk losing her most precious possession: her mind.
A Prescription for Delirium is released on December 1st, 2012.
Noree Cosper loves writing about magic in the modern world. While growing up in Texas she constantly searched for mystical elements in the mundane. She buried her nose in both fiction and books about Wicca, Religion, and Mythology. Everyday became an adventure as she joined a group of role-players, acting out her fantasies of vampires, demons, and monsters living in the world.
She embraced her nerdom wholeheartedly.
Noree grew, but never left her love for fantasy and horror. Her dreams pushed her and her hand itched to write the visions she saw. So, with her fingers on the keys, she did what her heart had been telling her to do since childhood. She wrote.
Be sure to check out her website for news on her works and tidbits of information
She also likes to ramble about things magical and supernatural on her blog Trip the Eclipse.a Rafflecopter giveaway

Fractured Light by Rachel McClellan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Fractured Light has been on my too-read for a while now. I'd heard a bit of hype about the book, so I decided to check it out. I'm so glad I did. Rachael McClellan has created a unique mythology that includes her version of vampires. These Vampires are not the sparkly kind. They are the darkest creatures out there, literally. They are made of darkness, and the villain in this story lived up to that disclaimer.
So many questions were raised in this first book. Some were answered, some not so much. I'm looking forward to reading Fractured soul. Llona is a strong character with teenaged insecurities and emotions. Some of her motivations didn't make much sense toward the end of the story, but they did at the same time because of her age and maturity level.
It's a great start to the series, and I can't wait to see what happens next. Ms. McClellan can count me as her latest fan. Loved the story and her writing was seamless.
