Book Review--Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Jennifer L. Armentrout has swiftly become one of my very favorite authors.  I've read every book she has out at this moment in time and my favorite so far is Obsidian, book one of the Lux Series.  Here is the blurb:

Starting over sucks. When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring.... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.And then he opened his mouth.Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something...unexpected happens. The hot alien living next door marks me.You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades. If I don't kill him first, that is.

I wasn't sure what to think when I found out this book was about aliens even though you could make a case that mine are too.  Some of my goodreads friends had recommended Jennifer as an author and I checked her out.  I ordered the sample from Amazon and bought the book once I was finished.  Katy is such an engaging main character.  When she sees Daemon for the first time, I laughed for hours.  He is just such a jerk, but you can't help but like him, and wonder what the heck he is about.  I have to say this series is original and so far one of my keepers.  It gets five shining stars from me , and I can't wait for Onyx to come out.
So if you find yourself looking for a book that will suck you in and not let you go even when you are finished reading, check out Obsidian.  You might just find yourself the latest Jennifer L. Armentrout fan.

Until next time...
