Book Review--River's Recruit by Charlotte Abel
River's Recruit by Charlotte Abel
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Charlotte Abel has an easy writing style that sucks you into the story. I have read both Enchantment and Taken in the Channie Series and loved them both. River's Recruit is much different in storyline to the Channie Series, but it has the same laid back feel.
I enjoyed getting to know Jonathan and River, although the society River is involved in is pretty messed up. The first part of the book was mainly set up but kept me interested throughout. The cliffhanger ending left me wanting more! Now, lol.
The characters are well developed. River, especially, was an enjoyable character to get to know. I loved Jonathan and his struggles. He was a great hero, and I loved that he had a great attitude about the problems he'd faced in life.
The series has the potential to be both heartwarming and amazing, and I can't wait for the next book!

Book cover is very different to others at the moment. Really lovely.
ReplyDeleteI really like this one, too, Emma. The truth is this story is different than any I've read.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen so many people without clothes on in a book with no actual steaminess, lol.
You'd just have to read it to know what I mean.
